The Challenge of Plastics in the Environment

UKWIR presented at this four day workshop, held in September, which offered the unique opportunity for early career researchers and entrepreneurs to come together to develop and test ideas around solving the challenges that plastics in our environment pose.

UKWIR’s Mandy Fletton was invited to give an industry view of the challenges presented by micro-plastics.

Presentations were also given by members of British Antarctic Survey and researchers from Cambridge University.

The workshop featured on local TV news and was broadcast on BBC Radio 5 on 21 September.

Thames Water helped to fund the four day event.
