Spring Launch and Next Steps

Spring Launch and Next Steps

Published On 21/02/2022

In December 2021, Spring formally launched – marking the culmination of months of work from colleagues across companies, the supply chain and regulators.

Spring launched with a range of functions under two parallel routes. The Ideation and Collaboration incubator aims to bolster and streamline how ideas are formed and how different stakeholders are brought together. The second, the Innovation Adoption route, focusses on sharing best practice across the sector.

After a user poll, Spring’s first challenge was confirmed as Net Zero Carbon, with the problem statement developed and shared in February. This means Spring’s users can now submit their solutions to one of the biggest challenges the water sector – and society – faces.

Successful submissions will be invited to pitch to key industry decision makers in April. Companies can opt-in to collaborative efforts to accelerate the development and adoption of solutions that can really make an impact.

Future challenges will also be decided by a vote of Spring’s members. To join the Spring community, visit spring-innovation.co.uk.

Alongside its first challenge, Spring is developing its longterm governance structure including strengthening its board, defining its KPIs and success measures, working on a long-term sustainable fundraising strategy and will appoint a permanent managing director in spring 2022.
