A dedication to research

United Utilities' Frank Grimshaw is standing down from his post of UKWIR Programme Lead for the Regulation area of research.

This simple statement belies his huge contribution to UKWIR research since his appointment to the Programme Lead role in 2002 when Regulation Manager at Severn Trent Water.

Significant contribution

He has seen 57 projects come to fruition but that is only half the story.

As Programme Lead he has overseen the development of the Regulation Big Question and helped to guide a wide and varied range of projects to successful completion in his own calm and inimitable way. His own standing and reputation in the industry has served the research area well and helped to secure regulatory collaboration on a number of important projects.

We would like to take this opportunity to thanks Frank for his help, insight, determination and friendship over the years. However, Frank does not plan to take it easy and UKWIR is not losing his great experience as he will be taking up a new role as UKWIR’s Technical Expert for Regulation.
