UKWIR online Annual Conference 2020

UKWIR has published a series of short online films, capturing the main highlights from its recent conference on transforming the water sector through collaborative research and innovation. The films include insights from a range of industry figures, as well as the world of Formula 1 motor racing.

Steve Kaye, UKWIR's CEO, said: “Our conference was a real success, with fantastic presentations and discussions throughout the day. The highlights videos really capture the energy and spirit of collaboration that were present during the event - something that's even more remarkable, given that we held the conference virtually.”

Steve added: “I would encourage everyone to watch the videos, as they demonstrate how much creative thinking and enthusiasm for innovation and transformation there is in our industry, both here in the UK and worldwide. We're already planning for our next conference for later this year and will share further details soon.” A highlights film has been produced for each of the four research and innovation conference sessions, which covered the following themes:

• Taking a fresh approach
• Culture is key, including insights from the McLaren Formula 1 racing team
• Seeing the bigger picture
• Future research and innovation priorities.
