A Design and Innovation Competition - Report of a trial on how water companies can innovate with their customers using open innovation
This project was undertaken to explore water industry challenge issues. Using open innovation, a group of over 350 people was recruited and a challenge website was created.
The community used social media to explore and develop ideas to address three water industry issues; 1) how could customers better understand the value of water, 2) how could they better understand how much water they used and 3) how could they be informed about the problems caused by disposal of the wrong materials down the toilet.
The report sets out the process carried out, reports on the ideas that were generated, and the results from using an open innovation approach.
