Protecting bathing waters to ensure they remain attractive and safe environments for the public presents a challenge for policy makers, regulators, water utilities, local authorities and many other bodies with an interest in coastal tourism and leisure.
For many years now the UK Bathing Waters group, a group representing the principal players, have sponsored a biennial conference where challenges, problems and successes can be discussed in an open and co-operative forum.
The most recent event was held in November 2017 at the Wexham Glyndŵr University with the Welsh Government as the principal sponsor.
The conference was the most successful yet with 180 delegates benefiting from 25 papers given by speakers from across the UK and Europe and lively discussion sessions.
Presentations from the 2017 conference can be seen here.
